Many days when the wind is blowing more than 12-15 mph we just stay home because the umbrella can't handle it. Now we can go to the beach regardless of the wind. Love the Solbello. Yes, it isn't great when there aren't big winds but we always carry an umbrella for those days. Now we are completely prepared for anything.

UPDATE: I submitted the mediocre review, below, and less than an hour later I received a personal email that was thoroughly helpful in all the aspects I didn't like. The message was personable and not defensive in tone, which I appreciated. I’m certainly glad to support an actively & accurately supported product/company and understand prices need to reflect that.

So if you have concerns similar to mine, I say this product is worth a try for you, too.

Upping my rating to 5 stars because I expect further use will be quite satisfactory, and the support is top-notch.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: In our yard the low wind changes direction regularly. The canopy needs stronger wind than we’ve been getting to flutter out far enough to make decent shade, and it only pivots a few degrees in each direction, not 360. So when the wind shifts backwards it creates a sail against the post instead of pivoting and fluttering the other way. That would move the shadow, yes, but also wouldn’t stress out the pole and fabric and drag it on the ground like it does. Using the corner stakes also catches the changing wind on the wrong side half the time. Not good. Also the pole only screws into the ground, so if it’s hard earth, it’s a real project to get it in (hammer in a stake, yank it out, try and screw into the hole, repeat.) An option to pound in the base and connect to it would help that. So for the $$$ we are less than thrilled. Reviews and photos made it look so great, but it’s not so much.

I have ordered, received, put up and returned every shade EXCEPT the Solbello. It is well made, goes up EASILY by one person (myself who can't usually put anything up) and stays up ALL DAY!!

BUY IT! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Great design. The umbrella works flawlessly . It is sturdy, easy to operate and store. Looks beautiful flapping on the gorgeous beach’s of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida. On windy days it is the only umbrella safe enough to use.
